    Death Penalty for Saddam?

I cannot understand the absurdity of these answers. An AP poll reports that only 57 percent of Americans want the death penalty for Saddam Hussein. Some people can't seem to grasp the fact that he was a dictator who committed genocide against the Kurdish, and his own, people.

I think maybe Jesus voted too many times.

More like, Jesus did not vote enough. The Bible is pretty clear about the death penalty as a tool for civil government. For example, Genesis 9:6 says, "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." (KJV)

This website has a good outline of the death penalty subject: The Death Penalty: A Biblical View.

The death penalty is a moral stance for many. No one is denying that Saddam is a horrible person. However I myself do not agree with the death penalty. Life in prison for Saddam would suit me just fine. Not to mention life is prison is cheaper than capital punishment. I don't suggest a nice fufu prison either, maximum security, and maybe a little solitary now and then.
